Newly launched US Miss World Web site shows off form and fashion, promotes upcoming pageant in Dallas

Dallas, Texas - August 16, 2004 - A great look, a winning personality and a true desire to serve. These qualities will define the winner of this year's US Miss World pageant. But they also describe the pageant's chosen Web development firm, which delivered a show-stopping design in less than a week.

Morley Interactive created a new image for the US Miss World brand in record time. Services included a custom Web site design, logo creation and Web site hosting, said Beth Morley, director of business services for Morley Interactive.

"The company needed a professional site that was in keeping with the image the Miss World pageant has worked so hard to create," Morley said. "What's more, they needed it fast. But we didn't let quick turnaround requirements hamper our creativity."

The site, which launched the first week in August, had to be available immediately to accept contestant applications for the pageant, which will take place in Dallas Oct. 10 through Oct. 16.

"Some firms think that tight deadlines limit them to generic Web sites," Morley added. "That's just not the case. The right designer, who understands a firm's goals, needs and budget, can devise creative solutions that deliver results."

The site provides a wealth of details about the upcoming competition, including rules and regulations, registration forms, information about the global Miss World pageant, information about the Dallas competition, and ticket purchasing details. Even before promotional efforts began, the site averaged more than 1,000 visitors per day.

"Morley Interactive is truly a partner," said Geoff Kearney, joint chief executive officer for US Miss World. "Our success is their success. They understand that our competition is a high-profile event, and that every minute until the pageant's opening number is crucial as we promote the U.S. Miss World brand. That's one reason that Morley Interactive acted fast, got our site up and helped us start marketing immediately."

Now in its 54th year, the Miss World Contest will feature representatives from 115 countries. Judging for the 2004 event will focus on the theme "Beauty with a Purpose." Contestants will range in age from 17 to 24 years old. At the US Miss World Contest, 12 young women will be selected to participate in the final competition in Dallas. The winner will proceed to the global event in Sanya, China this December. Last year's worldwide competition drew television viewership of more than 2 billion.
